Ordering your repeat prescriptions
Once we’re your nominated pharmacy, nothing else changes about how you order — you request your repeats from your GP exactly as you do now. The easiest way is the NHS App: order in the app, your GP approves it, and the prescription arrives with us electronically. We’ll text you when it’s ready to collect or when it’s been posted.
Can’t use the app? No problem — order through your GP surgery as usual, or call us on 0161 222 1024 and we’ll help you get set up.
Frequently asked questions
Is this really free?
Yes. Signing up, nomination and UK delivery are all free. You only ever pay the standard NHS prescription charge — and nothing at all if you’re exempt (over 60, under 16, certain conditions, or with a prepayment certificate). This is a free NHS service, separate from our private clinics.
Do I have to live in Bury?
No. Any patient in England can nominate us. Local patients can collect in store; everyone else gets free tracked delivery to their door, anywhere in the UK.
How do I order my repeat prescriptions?
Exactly as you do now — through the NHS App or your GP surgery. Once your GP approves a prescription it comes to us automatically. You don’t need to order anything through this website.
What is a nominated pharmacy?
It’s the pharmacy your electronic NHS prescriptions are sent to. Most people have one set already (often wherever they first handed in a prescription). You’re free to change it at any time, and switching to us takes one working day.
Can I still use another pharmacy sometimes?
Yes — nomination isn’t a contract. You can ask your GP for a paper prescription for any one-off item, or change your nomination whenever you like in the NHS App.
How long does delivery take?
We dispense the same day we receive your prescription (Mon–Fri) and post it first class. Most patients receive their medicines within 1–3 working days. Fridge lines and controlled medicines may need special arrangements — we’ll call you if so.
Who is behind this service?
Bury Healthcare Pharmacy is an NHS community pharmacy at 46 Walmersley Road, Bury, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (No. 1126145) and owned by Hassan Khan MPharm, a pharmacist independent prescriber.
