Foundayo tablets contain orforglipron, a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist taken by mouth for weight management. Foundayo is a prescription-only medicine: you complete a short online consultation, a UK-registered prescriber reviews it, and treatment is dispensed from our registered pharmacy in Bury only if it is clinically suitable for you. Foundayo launched in the UK on 24 August 2026, and Bury Healthcare Online — a GPhC-registered pharmacy (premises 1126145) — is supplying it from launch.

How to get Foundayo tablets online

  1. Complete the consultation. Choose your strength and click Start Consultation. The form takes about three minutes and covers your weight history, medical history, current medicines and identity verification.
  2. A prescriber reviews it. A UK-registered independent prescriber checks your answers, your BMI evidence and your ID. They may contact you for more information. Treatment is never guaranteed.
  3. We dispense and deliver. If approved, your medicine is dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy and sent by tracked delivery in discreet packaging. If treatment is not suitable, you are refunded in full.

About Foundayo (orforglipron)

Orforglipron is a non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist. Unlike semaglutide and tirzepatide, which are injected, and unlike oral semaglutide, orforglipron is taken as a conventional tablet. It works on the same GLP-1 pathway, acting on appetite regulation and gastric emptying to reduce how much you eat.

What is Foundayo used for?

Foundayo is licensed for weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is not a substitute for those changes — it supports them. Your prescriber will assess whether your BMI and any weight-related health conditions make treatment appropriate.

Who can take Foundayo?

The only contraindication in the UK label is hypersensitivity to orforglipron or any of the excipients. Beyond that, Foundayo is not recommended if you have severe liver impairment, or severe heart failure classed as NYHA class IV, where there is no experience of its use.

Tell your prescriber if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy — treatment should stop at least three weeks before a planned pregnancy. Use caution if you have had pancreatitis, which has not been studied. No dose adjustment is needed at any level of kidney function, including end-stage renal disease.

Some medicines interact. The dose of simvastatin should be halved when taken with orforglipron. A maximum dose of 9 mg applies if you take a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin or itraconazole, or an OATP1B inhibitor. Orforglipron may lower blood pressure, which matters more if you already take medicine for it. If you use oral contraception, additional precautions are advised for 30 days after starting and after each dose increase. List every medicine you take on the consultation form.

How to take Foundayo

One tablet once a day, swallowed whole. There is no fasting requirement and no restriction on food or drink — that requirement applies to oral semaglutide, not to orforglipron. If you miss a dose, take it when you remember, but never take more than one tablet in a day and never double up.

Treatment starts low and increases in steps, with at least 30 days at each strength before any increase. Your prescriber decides each step.

Some people stay on a lower strength if it is working well for them. Some medicines cap the dose at 9 mg, including strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as clarithromycin and OATP1B inhibitors, which is one reason we ask about everything you take.

Each pack holds 30 tablets taken once a day, so one pack lasts a month. That is £129 a month on 0.8 mg, 2.5 mg and 5.5 mg, £149 on 9 mg, and £179 on 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg. You pay only for the strength your prescriber approves.

Foundayo or the Wegovy Pill?

Both are once-daily GLP-1 tablets licensed for weight management, but they are different medicines. Foundayo contains orforglipron and can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. The Wegovy Pill contains semaglutide and has to be taken on an empty stomach with no more than a small sip of water, followed by a wait of at least 30 minutes before food, drink or other medicines.

Switching from an injection or the Wegovy Pill

If you already use a weekly injection, such as Mounjaro or Wegovy, or the Wegovy Pill, tell us in the consultation which medicine and strength you take and when you last took it. Do not take two GLP-1 medicines together. Your prescriber will decide when to stop your current treatment and which Foundayo strength to start on.

Foundayo (orforglipron) side effects

Very common side effects, affecting more than 1 in 10 people, are nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, indigestion and abdominal pain. These are usually worst after a dose increase and settle over time.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, a faster heartbeat, low blood pressure, bloating, burping, reflux, wind, gallstones, hair loss, tiredness, and raised amylase or lipase on blood tests. Acute pancreatitis is uncommon. Raised pancreatic enzymes on their own do not predict pancreatitis.

Store in the original package to protect it from light. There is no specific temperature limit. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

Is orforglipron available in the UK?
Yes. The MHRA authorised orforglipron on 10 August 2026, and it is sold in the UK under the brand name Foundayo. It is a prescription-only medicine, so you need a consultation first, and our prescriber reviews every order before it is dispensed.
Do I need to fast before taking Foundayo?
No. Orforglipron can be taken with or without food and there is no waiting period before eating or drinking. The fasting routine applies to oral semaglutide tablets, which are a different medicine.
Is Foundayo an injection?
No. Foundayo is a conventional tablet taken once a day by mouth. There are no needles and no refrigeration.
How long do I stay on each strength?
At least 30 days at each strength before any increase. Treatment starts at 0.8 mg and can step up through 2.5 mg, 5.5 mg, 9 mg, 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg. Your prescriber decides whether and when to increase.
Does Foundayo carry a thyroid cancer warning?
No. The UK label lists only hypersensitivity as a contraindication and carries no boxed warning. Medullary thyroid carcinoma and MEN 2 do not appear in the UK product information. The US label takes a different position.
Can I take it if I have kidney problems?
Yes. No dose adjustment is required at any level of kidney function, including end-stage renal disease. Tell your prescriber about your kidney health anyway so they have the full picture.
What if I am planning a pregnancy?
Treatment should stop at least three weeks before a planned pregnancy. Foundayo is not for use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Tell your prescriber if there is any possibility you could be pregnant.
Does it interact with my other medicines?
It can. The dose of simvastatin should be halved. A maximum of 9 mg applies alongside strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or OATP1B inhibitors. Extra contraceptive precautions are advised for 30 days after starting and after each dose increase. List everything you take on the consultation form.
What happens if the prescriber says no?
You are refunded in full. A prescriber can decline treatment at any point, and payment never obliges them to approve. If more information would change the decision, they will contact you.
Why is there a black triangle on this medicine?
The black triangle means the medicine is subject to additional monitoring because it is newly authorised. It is not a safety warning. Please report any suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Is Foundayo the same as Mounjaro?
No. Foundayo contains orforglipron and is a tablet taken once a day. Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and is an injection given once a week. They are different medicines, both licensed in the UK for weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.
Is Foundayo available on the NHS?
Not at the moment. Foundayo is available privately after a prescriber assessment. NICE is appraising orforglipron, and its guidance is currently expected on 18 November 2026.
Does Foundayo affect the contraceptive pill?
It can make oral contraceptives less reliable. Use a non-oral method of contraception, or add a barrier method such as condoms, for 30 days after starting Foundayo and for 30 days after each dose increase.
Can I switch to Foundayo from Mounjaro or Wegovy?
Often, yes, but your prescriber decides when to switch and which strength to start on. Tell us in the consultation what you take now, the strength, and when your last dose was. Do not take two GLP-1 medicines together.
How many tablets are in a pack, and how long does it last?
Each pack contains 30 tablets. At one tablet a day, a pack lasts 30 days, which is also the minimum time at each strength before any increase.
