The Regaine for Men Extra Strength foam three-month pack contains three 73ml cans of minoxidil 5% w/w cutaneous foam — enough for a full three months of twice-daily treatment for male pattern baldness, and the pack size that matches how long minoxidil actually takes to show a result.

Why a three-month pack?

Minoxidil is not a quick fix and it is not a course you finish. The first visible change usually takes around eight weeks, and four months of consistent twice-daily use before you can judge it fairly. In the first few weeks many men see a temporary increase in shedding as resting follicles are pushed into a new growth phase — the point at which people most often give up.

Buying three months at once removes the two things that end treatment early: running out mid-course, and re-deciding whether to buy it every four weeks. It also works out cheaper per month than three single cans.

What is in the pack

  • 3 x 73ml cans of Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam
  • Minoxidil 5% w/w — the highest strength available without a prescription
  • Approximately one can per month at the licensed dose

How to use it

  • Apply 1 g of foam — about half a capful — twice a day, to a completely dry scalp.
  • Total daily dose must not exceed 2 g.
  • Part the hair, spread the foam over the thinning area and massage in gently, then wash your hands.
  • Allow it to dry fully before using styling products or going to bed.

Full details of how the treatment works, what to expect and who it suits are on the single-can Regaine for Men Extra Strength Foam page.

Who it is for

Men aged 18 to 49 with male pattern baldness — thinning at the crown and vertex. It is contraindicated in women, in anyone with treated or untreated high blood pressure, and in anyone with psoriasis, sunburn or broken or shaved skin on the scalp. If you are over 49, the extra strength scalp solution is licensed up to age 65 and is the appropriate product.

What to expect

Early shedding in the first few weeks is normal. Look for change at eight weeks and judge properly at four months. Regrowth is maintained only while you keep using it — if you stop, the new hair is usually lost within three to four months. Stop and seek medical advice if you get chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, sudden weight gain or swelling of the hands or feet.

Regaine 3 Month Foam Pack FAQs

How long does the Regaine 3-month pack last?
Three months. Each 73ml can lasts about a month at the licensed dose of 1 g twice daily, and the pack contains three cans.
Is the 3-month pack cheaper than buying single cans?
Yes – the multi-pack works out cheaper per month than buying three cans individually, which is the usual reason for choosing it once you know you will be treating long term.
Why does Regaine need three months?
Minoxidil typically shows its first visible change at around eight weeks and needs about four months of consistent twice-daily use before it can be judged. Buying a month at a time is the most common reason men stop before the treatment has had a fair chance.
Is this the same foam as the single can?
Yes – identical product, minoxidil 5% w/w cutaneous foam, in a three-can pack. Only the quantity differs.
Can I use it if I’m over 49?
The extra strength foam is licensed for men aged 18 to 49. If you are over 49, the extra strength scalp solution is licensed up to age 65 and is the product to use instead.
What if I stop after three months?
Any regrowth is maintained only while you keep treating. Stopping usually means losing the new hair over the following three to four months, so plan on continuing rather than treating it as a fixed course.
Do I need a prescription for the Regaine 3-month pack?
No. Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Foam 5% is a general sale (GSL) medicine in the UK, so no prescription or pharmacy consultation is required.
How should the cans be stored?
Store below 25 degrees C, away from direct sunlight and heat. The cans are pressurised – do not pierce or burn them, even when empty, and keep them away from children.
