Anhydrol Forte is a clinical-strength treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). The 60ml roll-ball contains aluminium chloride hexahydrate 20% w/v, which blocks the sweat ducts of the armpits, hands and feet so everyday antiperspirants are no longer being overwhelmed.
What is Anhydrol Forte?
Anhydrol Forte 20% w/v Cutaneous Solution is a pharmacy (P) medicine for hyperhidrosis of the underarms, hands and feet, supplied from our GPhC-registered UK pharmacy. Its roll-ball applicator makes the solution easy to apply exactly where it is needed.
How does it work?
Aluminium chloride reacts with moisture in the sweat duct to form a temporary plug, dramatically reducing the sweat that reaches the skin. With regular use the glands become less active, so most people can cut down to just one or two applications a week once dryness is achieved.
How to use Anhydrol Forte
- Apply at night to the affected areas, on completely dry skin, and allow to dry.
- Wash off in the morning.
- Do not bathe immediately before applying.
- Use nightly at first, then reduce the frequency as your sweating improves.
Please read the patient information leaflet inside the pack before use.
Avoiding irritation
Stinging or itching usually means the skin was damp, broken or freshly shaved. Apply only to bone-dry, unbroken skin, and do not shave the area within 12 hours before or after applying. If irritation is troublesome, space out the applications.
Important cautions
The solution is highly flammable – keep away from naked flames. Keep it out of the eyes, and away from clothing, jewellery, metal and polished surfaces, as it can damage them. Wash hands after use unless the hands are being treated.
Anhydrol Forte or Driclor?
Both contain aluminium chloride hexahydrate 20% and work the same way. Anhydrol Forte gives you a larger 60ml roll-ball; Driclor is a compact 20ml roll-on. Choose the format you prefer.
